“TUYALYAS”, is a Bashkir ethnic song, uzunkuy. First registered by G.Z. Suleymanov in 1931 in the 1st Turkmenevo village, Baymak-Tanalykskiy District, BASSR (Baymakskiy District, RB). It is published in Bashkort khalk yirdaryby K.F. Akhmetov. According to the legend registered from K.M. Diyarov, Makhmut-sesen is the author of “T.”. He composed it before the exile. According to another version, the song’s origin is connected with events which happened in one of the villages in the valley near the Tuyalyas river. The Kazakhs had organized a barymta raid and stole the Bashkirs’ cattle. The villagers chased them, attacked and destroyed the intruders. The Bashkirs composed “T.”. It glorifies native lands and batyrs who protected it. The lightly ornamented melody is based on major pentatonic. It has the range equal to eleventh. The chant reaches quint and sixth from the singing sound, which is very significant for the melody formation. A complex changing meter, which is based on a partite meter, and special beat structure make the chant compositionally full and unique. A.S. Klucharyev made musical adaptations of “T.” for choir and symphonic orchestra, R.V. Salmanov, M.P. Fomenkov made adaptations for mixed choir.
