URAL-BATYR

“URAL-BATYR” a  r e g i o n a l  c o n t e s t  o f  y o u n g  s t o r y t e l l e r s  a n d  p e r f o r m e r s  o f  t h e  e p i c. Initially, it was held on the initiative of the Department of Education of Burzyansky district (Novomunasipovo school in 1996, 1998, and 2000), school No. 13 of Sibay, G. Almukhametov Republican Boarding School of Music Education (both in 1996). In 1997, the Department of Ethnic Languages of the Ministry of Education of the RB in Ufa organized a regional competition; in 1999, the 2nd competition took place. In 2001, the regulations for the competition were approved; the contest is held annually. It is designed for the region's primary, secondary, and high-school students. There are 2 stages: municipal and regional (1st round: reciting the epic “Ural-Batyr”; 2nd round: staging passages of “Ural-Batyr” or other epic). The regional stage is held in different districts of Bashkortostan.
