KHAZINA

“KHAZINA” (“Treasure”), Bashkir folk ensemble of Uchaly Philharmonic. Organized in 1996 by honored worker of culture of the RB G.G. Kudryavtseva. In 2003 it earned the title “People’s”. The band can play dumbyra, kubyz, mandolin, Saratov squeezebox; its repertoire includes Bashkir ethnic songs, ethnic dances, munazhats, bayts, chastushkas, family and household as well as calendar rituals of Bashkirs (see Family and household ritual poetry). “Kh” created a museum which presents the decoration of the Bashkir house and farmstead as well as household utensils; it holds workshops in the Trans-Ural regions on the history of Bashkir costume, making of women’s jewelry, playing Bashkir ethnic musical instruments; 21 programs on the history of Bashkir costumes of the Southern Urals and 4 programs on the ethnic pectoral decoration have been prepared for the regional radio (“Ashkadar” and “Yuldash”). Gatherings for children “Grandma’s chest” are organized on a weekly basis.

Winner of the international, national, and other festivals and competitions. The TV movie “The secret of an old chest” with the participation of the ensemble was awarded the Grand Prix at the international film festival “Earth and People “ (Moscow, 2012).
