SESEN CENTER

SESEN CENTER o f t h e R e p u b l i c o f B a s h k o r t o s t a n was established in 2015 at the center of folk art in order to develop folklore, revive sesen art, and tell-tale art.

S.C. holds various competitions and folklore festivals devoted to the anniversaries of well-known sesens, etc. At the initiative of the S. C., as part of the World Folkloriada in 2016 and 2018, an all-Russian competition of storytellers (sesens) was held, which was attended by storytellers from various regions of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries. In 2019 the first inter-regional competition among the yirau and the forum for the preservation of Bashkir musical folklore “Uzun kyuy hem yirausy” was held. It was dedicated to the day of the Bashkir language, etc.

It collaborates with V. D. Polenov State Russian House of Folk Art (Moscow), Institute of history, language and literature, M. Akmulla Pedagogical University, UNESCO, etc.

S.C. is a participant of the international festival of folk music “Great Silk Road” (2019; Margilan, Uzbekistan), the 16th International Kurultay of Storytellers, dedicated to the year of theater and the 130th anniversary of the birth of the famous Altay storyteller Sh. Markov (2019; Gorno-Altaysk of the Altay Republic), etc.
