SHAKUROV Rashit Zakirovich

SHAKUROV Rashit Zakirovich (b. 11.1. 1937), linguist, poet. Doctor of Philology (1998), Professor (2012). His research is devoted to the problems of Bashkir linguistics, literary studies, folklore, toponymy, dialectology. Author of more than 400 research papers. Sh. wrote out the versions of the epics “Zayatulyak and Khyukhylu”, “Kungyr-buga”, etc., the song “Uil”, and the tune “Makhmut on Foot”, etc. The book “Country of Singing Cranes” (1996; “Synrau tornalar ile”) includes essays and articles about Bashkir folklore, ethnic musical instruments, folk singers and musicians. Together with musicologist F. Kh. Kamaev, Sh. prepared and published the collection “Sal Uraldyn mondary” (1988). Co-author of the lyrics of the state anthem of Bashkortostan.
