SHEZHERE
SHEZHERE is a genealogical history of a tribe, clan, family. There are nominal S. (generational enumeration of the names of relatives in the male line from the founder of the clan or from the compiler) and narrative S. (which include information about the historical events, people, documentary texts, etc.) Narrative S. include legends and lore, memory stories, epic plots: “Shezhere of burzyan tribe”, “Shezhere of min tribe”, “Shezhere of tamyan tribe” (Bashk.), “Primary chronicle” (Rus.), “Bykhovets’es chronicle” (Belarus.), “Sanbek’s clan”, “Bekbatyr’s clan” (Mar.), “Lvov chronicle”, “Samovidets’es chronicle” (Ukr.), etc.
The study of genealogy is nominal, it includes compilation of genealogical tree based on different historical documents and audit tales. To make the genealogy of the Bashkirs and of other R peoples more popular there are regional and republic ethnic holidays called “Shezhere bayramy”, “Hello, fellow villagers!”, different family contests and games, sabantuys.
The genealogical tree of P.I. Petrov from Nikolayevka village, Karmaskalinskiy district, RB is at point among the other modern S. It compiles more than 90 thousand people (there is a movie about it called “Korneva in Ufa. The biggest genealogy”, 2018); local historian A.G Tikhonov from Nurkeyev township, Tuymazinskiy district, RB was born in Novo-Yumashevo village, Sharanskiy district, RB. He compiled his genealogy in shape of the Sun – “Osip’s Sun” and published it in “Our minor Motherland” book (2006) timed to the jubilee of his native village, he also published “Lore of the ancient times” (2010), “Torgal story” (2011) books about religion, language, Chuvash history. V.V. Nikolayev, M.K. Safin, S.F. Niktin published the “History of Chuvash Karmaly village origin and development. Genealogical tree of the first tenant – Nikita Avdokim.” book. (Orenburg, 2002) dedicated to the genealogy of the villagers. R.R. Sadikov described the origin of his neighbors in the “Kasiyarovo: history and modern life (history and ethnography of the villagers)” book (2006). V.P. Ivanov, M.K. Safin have published the “Origin: Motherland and clans of poets K.I. Ivanov and Y.G. Ukhtay” book (Cheboksary, 2018) which shows the genealogy of the poets from Slakbash village, Belebeyevskiy district, RB since the 17th c. and proves them to be relatives. There are other interesting genealogies, e.g. Mustay Karim’s ancestry, the research of “Shezhere of Mambetov’s clan” manuscript (1994) by ethnic poet K. Aralbay, etc. S. can be assessed according to reliability, original form, compilation of 7 or more generations. The compilers of Akhmadullins’, Mallagaliyevs’, Nasibullins’ S. from Kugarchi-Bulyak village, Sharanskiy district have compiled 7 of their generations, researching their genealogy. Historical and cultural centers, Ethnic cultural centers, World kurultai (congress) of Bashkirs, etc. also work on making S. more popular.
