INSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC RESEARCH, a stand-alone structural unit of the Ufa Federal Research Centre, of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UFRC RAS). Located inUfa. Established in 1951. Main activities: methodological principles of research in the sphere of spatial development of the economy, regional finance management; macro-economic modelling of regional economy; integration of regions into global economic and political processes, etc. Since 1997, the scientists of the Institute have issued more than 200 draft versions of Republican laws, programs, analytical messages, etc (the RB laws “The Budgeting Process in the RB”, “Inter-budget Relations in the Republic of Bashkortostan”; “Energy Strategy of the RB for the Period till2020”, “Bashkortostan on the Way to the 21st century: Nature, People, Economy, the State”, “The Concept of the Strategic Plan of Economic Development of the Ufa Municipal District till2030”, etc). In 1997–2018 I.f.S.a.E.R. received more than 20 grants from the Russian Government Scientific Fund, the Russian Fund of Fundamental Research, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the AS RB and others for research of the following problems: “Integrative Interaction between Territories in Response to Economic and Political Challenges”, “Transformation of Spatial Economic Landscape of the Territory against the Background of Increasing Agglomeration Processes”, “Values-based Orientations and Potential of Social Growth of the Youth of a Russian region in the age of Sanctions and Global Economic Crisis (as in the case of the Republic of Bashkortostan)”, etc.
