AGIDEL
AGIDEL, a town in the RB. Located on the Belaya River, 250 km SW of Ufa and 100 km SW of the Yanaul Railway Station. Territory – 53 km2. Population – 16.3 thous. people (2010); 14.9 thous. people (2018). In A., there are oil loading terminal of dark oil products, OOO Jut‑ST (production of silicate bricks), ZAO Terminal‑Agidel and others. There is the Agidel– Amzya Line of the Gorkovskaya Railway. The Agidel– Arlan Highway connects A. with the Dyurtyuli–Neftekamsk Highway.
In A., there are: a branch of Ufa Fuel and Energy College, a vocational lyceum, 2 general education schools, a gymnasium, 2 preschool educational institutions, a supplementary school, a children’s school of music, a youth sports school; a municipal central library, Palace of Culture, 2 libraries, a church, and the Nur mosque. In the town, there are 3 folk and 3 exemplary amateur art groups. The Ogni Agideli newspaper is published. Founded in 1980 as Rabochy Posyolok on the territory of Krasnokamsky Raion of the BASSR due to the construction of the Bashkir Nuclear Power Station. Since 1984 – PGT, since 1991 – the current status.
