AZAMATOV, Marat Mustafeyevich (16.11. 1941, Selo Chekmagush of Chekmagushevsky Raion of the BASSR – 4.4.2002, Ufa), Coach. Merited (Ice Hockey) Coach of the RSFSR (1978), Meritied Physical Culture Professional of the BASSR (1978). Awarded with the 2nd Class Medal of the Order for Merits to the Fatherland (1996). Graduated from the Lesgaft Physical Culture Institute (1972). Between 1969–75, Head of the Salavat Yulayev Specialist Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve. He was the Coach of Salavat Yulayev (1979–83) and Locomotive (1993–97) teams. Since 1997, Head of Youth Sports School No.3. Between 1983–95, Coach of the Junior National Teams of the USSR, the CIS, Russia. Headed by A., Salavat Yulayev Sports School team became the juniors’ Champion of the USSR (1973, 1984), Silver Medalist of the USSR Youth’s Competition (1975). The Junior National Team of the USSR became the Champion of Europe (1984), Silver Medalist of the European Championship (1991). I.F.Gimayev was one of his trainees.
