AITKULOV, Azat Minnigaleyevich [b.27.1. 1956, Selo Yuldybayevo of Matrayevsky Raion of the BASSR (Zilairsky Raion of the RB)], Kurai Player. People’s Artist of the BASSR (1991), Merited Artist of the RF (1998) and BASSR (1987). Laureate of the RB State Award named after Salavat Yulayev (2000) and Award named after G.Salyam (1990). Graduated from the Ufa School of Arts (1977) and BSU (1994). Since 1975, he worked as a teacher at Ufa School of Arts, since 1978 as a solo kurai player at the Bashk. Philharmonia, simultaneously since 2015 as Dean of Department of Bashk. Music at USIA. He continues the classical traditions of instrumental performance and he is the master of kurai playing techniques. His repertoire includes the instrumental versions of uzunkyui, Bashk. folk tunes, song-and-dance melodies, etc. Between 2007— 10 Chairman of the Board of the Union of Kurai Players of the RB.
