AKMULLA
AKMULLA (real name: Kamaletdinov Miftakhetdin Kamaletdinovich; 14.12.1831, Derevnya Toksanbayevo of Kulili-Minsk Volost of Belebeyevsky Uyezd of Orenb. Gub. (now Miyakinsky Raion of the RB) — 8.10.1895, near Selo Syrostan of Troitsky Uyezd of the same gub., buried in Posyolok Miassky Zavod (now town of Mias) was a Bashkir poet-educator. He received education in his native devevnya and studied in the madrassas of the Derevnyas Meneuztamak and Anyasevo. During the years of travel and living among the Bashkirs and Kazakhs, the educator was engaged in various arts and crafts and participated in aytyshs headed by akyns and sesens. He became famous as a talented poet-improviser. He was the author of the My Bashkirs, Time for Learning! and Formation poems, and the book In Memory of Shigabutdin Mardzhani (1892) and other works, where he preached the ideas of reforming the education system and called people to master various kinds of knowledge. A. created a unique direction in national poetry and played an important role in the development of the Bashkir language. The movement which he created had a significant influence on the development of Kazakh and Tat. literatures, and his name became widely known among many Turkic peoples. A great deal of valuable information about the poet was included in the memoirs of M.I.Umetbayev and R.F.Fakhretdinov.
