AKNAZAROV, Zekeriya Sharafutdinovich (22.8.1924, Derevnya Yamashevo of Zilairsky Canton of the BASSR – 2.4.2000, Ufa), Statesman. Participant in the Great Patriotic War. Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1971, 1984), Order of the October Revolution (1981), Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1957, 1966), Order of People’s Friendship (1974). Graduated from the Mezhobl. Party School (Sverdlovsk, 1948) and Bashkir Ped. Institute named after K.A.Timiryazev (1950). Between 1960–62, he studied at the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU (Moscow). Between 1945–46, Secretary of the Baymaksky Raion Committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communists League. Since 1951, the 1st secretary of the Bashkir Obl. Committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communists League. Between 1954–60, Head of Department of the Bashkir Obl. Committee of the CPSU. Between 1962–86, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the BASSR. He made a significant contribution to the social economic and cultural development of the Republic. Between 1966–71, Member of the Central Audit Commission of the CPSU.
