AMIROV, Mubarakyan Vasfiyevich [3.7. 1886, Derevnya Burayevo of Birsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Burayevsky Raion of the RB) – 7.3.1968, Ufa], Librarian, Bibliographer. After graduating from the Gusmaniya madrassa (Ufa, 1906), he worked as a teacher at rural schools. Since 1911 – worked at Shark publishing house in Ufa; simultaneously – at The Vakyt newspaper. (Orenburg) Since 1912 – Head of libraries at the Zemstvo Administration of Ufa Gub., in Burayevo, Birsk, and Ufa. Between 1928–58 – the first Dir. of the State Book Chamber of the BASSR. Initiator of the establishment and organizer of Zemstvo libraries in derevnyas Verkhniye Tatyshly, Kyzylyarovo, Tynbayevo, Chelkakovo, Selo Nikolskoye-Teplyaki of Birsky Uyezd (1913–16). Together with the employees of the Bashkir State Public Library he collected rare books (Navoi, Nizami, Saadi, Firdausi, N.A.Gurvich, I.I.Lepyokhin, S.U.Remezov, N.P.Rychkov, etc), old newspapers and magazines, which comprised the core of the collections of the National Library named after A.Z.Validi. A. laid the foundations of books registration in Bashkortostan, revised and translated into the Bashkir language the author’s tables of books classification based on the system of Ch.Ketter, developed over 80 technical manuals for rural libraries. Participated in the work of the World Publishing Exhibition in Tiflis (1932), where a large collection of the first Bashkir printed materials were represented.
