ARKHANGELSKY RAION
ARKHANGELSKY RAION, located in the central part of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Abolished on February 1, 1963 and became part of Karmaskalinsky Raion. Newly established on November 4, 1965. Territory – 2,422 km2. Adm. centre – Selo Arkhangelskoye, which is located 88 km SE of Ufa and 5 km S of the Priuralye Railway Population – 17.5 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 59.4 thous. ha (24.5% of the total area), including arable lands – 16.395, hayfields – 29.6, pastures – 14.3, forest area – 171.3 and surface waters – 2.0. There are: 6 agricultural enterprises, 64 peasant (farmer) farms; the enterprises located on the plain territory specialize in the cultivation of spring wheat, horse breeding and beekeeping. Those located in the mountainous area grow winter rye and oats, breed dairy and meat On the territory of the Raion, there are: OOO APC Arkhangelskaya, Arkhangelskoye Varenye, Progress, Vodnik, etc. The Kuibyshev Railway (Karlaman—Beloretsk Section) and the following highways: Ufa—Inzer—Beloretsk and Arkhangelskoye—Krasnousolsky cross the territory.
There are: a branch of Aurgazinsky Multidisciplinary College in Selo Arkhangelskoe, 18 general education schools, 3 pre-school educational institutions, a children’s arts and sports centre Impuls, a children’s arts school, the Raduga teenager’s club, a central hospital, 37 medical and obstetrical centers; 21 clubs and 20 libraries. In the Raion, there are 7 folk amateur art groups.
