POLITICAL REPRESSIONS VICTIMS ASSOCIATION OF THE RB

POLITICAL REPRESSIONS VICTIMS ASSOCIATION OF THE RB, public association established to protect the rights, dignity and interests of persons subjected to political purges and subsequently rehabilitated citizens and their relatives. Located in Ufa. Established in April, 1991. Member of the Russian Association of Victims of Illegal Repressions. Has branches in the raions of the RB. Main directions of activity: advancement of full and transparent rehabilitation of persons subjected to political purges; cooperation with the Association’s members; preservation and conservation of political repressions victims memories; laws and regulations execution control; disclosure of the truth about crimes of the totalitarism and fight against lawlessness. In 2000, the Association helped to establish a monument to the victims of political repressions in Ufa. Seven volumes of The Book of Memory of Victims of Political Repressions of the Republic of Bashkortostan (1997—2011) as well as the Living Memory book (2009) were published. Every year October 30th commemorates the Day of Victims of Political Repressions.
