AURGAZINSKY RAION
AURGAZINSKY RAION, located in the central part of the RB. Established on August 20th, 1930 as Novo-Kar(a)malinsky Raion, since February 20th, 1932 has its current name. Abolished on February 1st, 1963, territory became part of Sterlitamaksky and Karmaskalinsky raions. Newly established on January 13th, 1965. Territory — 2,014 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Tolbazy, which is located 80 km S of Ufa and 30 km W of the Beloye Ozero Railway Station. Population — 32.7 thous. people (2017). In 2017, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 147.7 thous. ha (73.3% of the total area), including arable lands — 91.6, hayfields — 13.2, pastures — 24.8; forest area — 36.4 and surface waters — 1.2. Agricultural enterprises [16 APCs, 8 OOOs and 85 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of wheat, buckwheat, sugar beet, meat and dairy cattle breeding as well as pig and sheep breeding. There is a forestry enterprise on the territory of raion. Also, there are: NGDU Ishimbayneft and Ufaneft, Azhemak Brick Plant (facing bricks production), Tolbazinsky Kirpich (Brick), Keramika, asphalt and concrete mixes plant, OAO AurgazyMolproduct, a bakery, etc. The Kuibyshev Railway (Dyoma— Tyulgan Section) and Ufa— Orenburg and Davlekanovo— Tolbazy roads cross the territory. There are: Aurgazinsky Multidisciplinary College, Tolbazy Lyceum, Bashkir Gymnasium, 42 general education schools, of which 23 secondary schools, incl. Bishkainskaya and Tryapinskaya secondary schools; an orphanage, 34 pre-school educational institutions, the Bakhti Gaysin’ Children’s Musical School, Altair Centre, youth’ sports school, Raduga (Rainbow) Cinema; a central hospital and a rural hospital, 5 rural outpatient hospitals, 41 medical and obstetrical centers; 33 clubs, Aurgazinsky Folk Theatre, 23 libraries, Galimzhan Ibragimov’ and Aurgazinsky Local History museums. There are 13 folk and 2 exemplary amateur art groups.
