BAKIROV, Mirat Samikovich [1.5.1931, Derevnya Ibrayevo, Mrakovsky Raion of the BASSR (Kugarchinsky Raion of the RB) – 30.12.2007, Moscow], Industrialist. Hero of Socialist Labour (1971). Merited Chemist of the BASSR (1968). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1965, 1971), the Order of the October Revolution (1976). After graduating from the Odessa Poly­ technic Institute (1954), he worked at the Ufa Chemical Plant (since 1970 as Dir.). Since 1972, he worked as Dir. of the Usolye­ Sibirskoye Chemical Plant. Since 1976, he lived and worked in Moscow. Under the leadership of B., the Ufa Chemical Plant mastered  the  serial  production  of  epoxy resin  and  introduced  a  preparation  that prevents the development of scale in boilers.
