BANNOYE

BANNOYE, Yaktykul (in translation from Bashkir — “light lake”), a lake in the basin of the Ural River, the deepest in the RB, a natural monument (1965). It is located 28 km  SE  of  Selo  Askarovo  of Abzelilovsky Raion. Surface area — 7.7 km², length — 4.1 km, aver. width — 1.9 km, aver. depth — 10.6 m (max. — 28 m). Water is of hydrocarbonate­magnesium type. Alpine astre, Dunce’s Caps, forked spleen­ wort, thyme, etc grow in the rocky areas of the shore. According to the legend, during the Peasant War of 1773—75 Pugachev’s rebels set up a bath on the shore of the lake. Yakty-­Kul Health Resort is located at the B.
