BASHKIR GOVERNMENT
BASHKIR GOVERNMENT, the supreme executive body of the Bashrepublic, which was proclaimed on November 15th, 1917. Formed by the Smaller Kurultay (Congress) in Orenburg on December, 20th. In February 1918, Heads of departments of the B.G. and several members of the Bashkir Central Shuro were arrested by repre sentatives of the Orenburg Gub. Military Revolutionary Committee. At the beginning of April they were released by the Bashkir and Cossack troops. In June, the B.G. resumed activity, conducted mobilization for the Bashkir Army, concluded contracts with the AllRussia Constituent Assembly, Provisional Sib. Government et al., on the joint struggle against the RSFSR, and developed the Regulation on Autonomous Administration of Malaya Bashkiriya. At the Ufa State Conference, the B.G. acted as the cofounder of the Provisional AllRussia Government. It also announced the accession of the Autonomous Bashkir Republic to the RSFSR on February, 18th. On February, 22nd the B.G. transferred powers on the Bashkortostan territory to Bashrevkom. Following signing of the Agreement of the Central Soviet Power with the Bashkir Government on the Soviet Autonomous Bashkiriya, the B.G. ceased its work.
