BASHKORT KHALYK IZHADY
BASHKORT KHALYK IZHADY (Bashkir Folk Art), systematized, scientific edition of Bashkir folklore. The first three volumes version of this work was compiled and published by the Bashkir Branch of the AS USSR between 1954–59. Between 1972—85, 18 books were published by the Institute of History, Language and Literature under the guidance of A.I.Kharisov (1972–75), G.B.Khusainov and K.Mergen (1975–85). Each book has a genre designation. Since 1995, the Institute began publishing an additional set of B.Kh.I. under the leadership of A.M.Suleimanov and G.R.Khusainova. B.Kh.I. includes ac companying comments, such as detailed information about the various versions of the folklore materials it comprises, its ori ginal storytellers, as well as various sum maries and a glossary. Each volume has an introductory article with a formal description of the genre. Award named after Salavat Yulaev was conferred to L.G.Barag, N.T.Zaripov, F.A.Nadrshina, M.M.Sagitov, A.M.Suleymanov, and A.I.Kharisov for the compilation of B.Kh.I. (1987). Ref. Bashkir Folk Art.
