BASHNEFT–UFANEFTEKHIM, a branchof PAO ANK Bashneft. Refines hydro­ carbon raw materials with the production of fuel of various brands and petrochemical products (more than 60 products). Founded in 1954 as the Chernikovsk Refinery; in 1957, CDU­-1 and VDU­-1 were put into operation for oil treatment and crude dis­ tillation; since 1962 the Ufa Refinery named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU, since 1992 AP Ufaneftekhim, since 1993 OAO, since 2012 has its current name. Thermal cracking, vacuum gas oil hydrocracking, catalysts recovery units, pilot production of protein­vitamin concentrates, a complex for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons, higher fatty alcohols, pyromellitic dian­ hydride, an automatic rack for leak­proof filling of aromatic hydrocarbons were introduced in the company for the first time in the country.
