BELEBEEVSKY RAION
BELEBEEVSKY RAION, located on the SW of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Between 1963–65, due to the amalgamation of raions, B.r. included the territory of Ermekeyevsky and Bizhbulyaksky raions. Territory — 1,859 km2. Adm. centre — Belebey, located 180 km SW of Ufa and 10 km S of Aksakovo Railway Station. Population — 18.2 thous. people (2017).
In 2018, the area of agricultural land amounted to 109.2 thous. ha (58.5% of the total area), including arable lands —63.4, hayfields — 5.1, pastures — 39.9; forest area — 66, surface waters — 0.3. Agricultural enterprises [an APC, 2 OAOs, 9 OOOs, 126 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops and livestock breeding (pig breedeng, poultry breeding). There are: Shkapov Gas Processing Enterprise, Avtokomplyekt Plant, Avtonormal Plant, etc. The Kui byshev Railway (Abdulino—Ufa section) and the following highways: Belebey— Ermekeevo—Priyutovo, Belebey—Nikolaevka—Tuymazy—Bakaly, Aksyonovo—Aksa kovo cross the territory. There are: 26 general education schools,
21 preschool educational institutions, 2 supplementary schools, 2 schools of music, 2 arts and crafts centers; a central hospital, a rural outpatient hospital, 31 medical and obstetrical centers, a department of nursing care, the Aksakov Health Resort, Glukhovskaya Health Resort; 36 clubs, 31 lib raries, the Aksakov Museum, the K.Iva nov Memorial House, the M.Tsvetayeva Museum, the Ya.Ukhsay Lit. Museum, etc. In the Raion, there are 25 amateur art groups.
