BIZHBULYAKSKY RAION
BIZHBULYAKSKY RAION, located in the W of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Abolished on February 1, 1963, the territory became part of Belebeyevsky Raion. Newly established on January 13, 1965. Territory — 2,134 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Bizhbulyak, which is located 230 km SW of Ufa and 40 km SE of the Priyutovo Railway Station. Population — 22.5 thous.

In 2017, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 161.4 thous. ha (75.6% of the total area), including arable lands — 90.2, hayfields — 16.4, pastures — 54.8; forest area — 28.9 and surface waters — 0.6. Agricultural enterprises [24 APCs, 93 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in cultivation of grain crops, sugar beet, sun flower, meat and dairy cattle breeding, sheep and pigs breeding. There are: OOO Bizhbulyakenergoservice, CompleksStroy; Bizhbulyakskoye RayPo Production Group, Bizhbulyaksky Bread Factory, etc. The Kuibyshev Railway (Abdulino—Ufa section) and the KirgizMiyaki—Bizhbulyak Highway cross the territory.
There are: a branch of Belebeyevsky Colege of Mechanization and Electrification, 14 ge neral education schools, 6 preschool educa tional institutions, a school of arts, a child ren’s sports school, a children’s arts centre; a central hospital, 34 medical and obstetrical centers; 31 clubs, the Bizhbulyakskoye Museums Association, including the Ethnographic Museum and the museums of K.Khakimov, F.Karim, I.A.Petrova and B.G.Imashev, F.N.Vukolov-Erlikh and Tagir Akhunzyanov. In the Raion, there are 4 folk amateur art groups.
