BIKBAU‑BIY

BIKBAU‑BIY, the Usergan Bashkir tribe leader. Headed the Usyergan (tribe) struggle against the Nogay Horde. According to a Shezhere and other his­ torical sources, together with Iske­biy, Karakuzyak­biy Meshavali, Shagali Shakman­biy held the negotiations for the accession of  the  south­east Bashkirs to Russia (ref. Accession of Bashkortostan to Russia). After the agreement was signed, he received a Zhalovannaya Gra­mota, confirming his Russian citizenship. B.­b. was awarded the title of Tarkhan.
