BIKBULATOVA, Zaytuna Islamovna [28.5.1908, Derevnya Safarovo of Ufimsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Chishminsky Raion of the RB) — 23.2.1992, Ufa], Actress. People’s Artist of the USSR (1973) and RSFSR (1955), Merited Artist of the RSFSR (1947) and BASSR (1944). Laureate of the RSFSR State Award named after K.S.Stanislavsky (1967) and the BASSR Award named after Salavat Yulaev (1976). Awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1958), Order of the Badge of Honour (1968). Graduated from the Bashk. Technical School of Arts (1930). Since 1928, she worked as an actress at BSAT. Between 1961—84 — Chairman of the Bashk. branch of the All­-Russian Theatrical Society.

An outstanding Bashk. actress of realistic direction, whose art is characterized by the depth of psychol. characteristics and trans­ formation skill. She created a gallery of bright dramatical and lyrical images in the plays based on the works of foreign and Russian classical drama. A special place in the actress’s artistic work was allocated to the images of mothers, created in more than 20 plays. The role of Tankabika (In the Lunar Eclipse Night), where the actress managed to demonstrate the best features of her talent: deep drama, emotions, subtle psychology, was the most prominent in B.’s artistic work.
