BUZDYAKSKY RAION
BUZDYAKSKY RAION, located on the W of the RB. Established on August 20th, 1930, included some volosts of Belebeyevsky Canton. Abolished on February 1st, 1963, the territory became part of Tuymazinsky Raion. Newly established on November 4th, 1965. Territory — 1,632.8 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Buzdyak, which is located 112 km W of Ufa. Population — 27.0 thous. people (2017).
In 2017 the area of agricultural lands amounted to 126.1 thous. ha (77.2% of the total area), including arable lands — 78.2, hayfields — 8.4, pastures — 39.2; forest area — 25.0 and surface waters — 1.1. Agricultural enterprises [2 Agricultural Pro duction Cooperatives, 2 MUSPs, 10 OOOs, 10 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops, sugar beet, sunflower, meat and dairy cattle breeding and pigs breeding. The Buzdyaksky Elevator is located on the territory. NGDU Ok tyabrskneft develops oil fields. Also, there are: Buzdyak Canning Factory, OOO Buzdyakagro, NeralBuzdyak, Ural Gaz Oil, Agrokhimcentre Trading House, and Road Construction and Maintenance Admi nistration. Kuibyshev Railway (Bugulma— Chishmy Section) and highways: Samara— Ufa—Chelyabinsk, Buzdyak—Davlekanovo and Buzdyak—Chekmagush—Dyurtyuli cross the territory.
There are: Buzdyak Agricultural College, 24 general education schools, 28 preschool educational institutions, a children’s music school, a children’s arts school, Children’s Arts House, youth’ sports school, a sports and fitness centre; a central hospital and 2 general practitioner departments, 42 medical and obstetrical centers; 43 clubs, 20 libra ries, and a local history museum. There are 10 folk and 2 exemplary amateur art groups.
