BURZYANSKY HONEY — THE GLORY OF BASHKORTOSTAN

BURZYANSKY HONEY — THE GLORY OF BASHKORTOSTAN, annual summer International Ethnic Festival dedicated to the Bashkir honey. It has been held since 2014 in Selo Starosubkhangulovo of Burzyansky Raion  of  the  RB. The  first festival timed to coincide with the visit of UNESCO international experts and members of the Russian Commission of UNESCO Affairs to Bashkortostan. At the festival, Bashkortostan was represented by Abze­ lilovsky, Baymaksky, Beloretsky, and Burzyansky raions. Annually, during the event, fairs, featuring and selling honey and beekeeping products, Bashkir folk craft products and folk costumes, are held. Master classes for making wild hives, wild bee­ keepers performances (rising to a wild hive, leather kiram netting, fabrication of a queen cage and a bast swarming basket, etc), contests for the title of the Best Wild Bee

Keeper,  the  Best  Bee­Breeder,  the  Best Wild Bee Yard; sports games, competitions, and dancing activities are conducted. There are awards for the Best Beehive, Honey, Honey­Based Dish etc. The ethnic festival’s business program includes workshops where they discuss such issues as certification of RB producers of honey and bee­keeping products for further cooperation with dealer networks; opportunities for creation of new touristic products etc.
