BYKIN, Yakov Borisovich (1888, Mestechko Krestovoye of Vitebsk Gub. – 1938, Moscow), Soviet Communist Party Activist. Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1935). Member of the Bund since 1903 and Russian Social Democratic Labour Party since 1906. Graduated from the Communist Academy (Moscow, 1927). In 1904 and 1911, he was arrested for revolutionary activity. Between 1929–37, 1st Secretary of Bashkir Obl. Committee of the ACP(b). Between 1923–28 and 1930–37, Member of the Russian Central Executive Committee and Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. In 1937, he was subjected to poli­tical purges and executed by shooting. Rehabilitated in 1956.
