VAGANOV, Gennady Viktorovich (b.25.11.1936 in Selo Duvan of Duvansky Raion of the BASSR), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (cross­country skiing) of the USSR (1960), Merited Cross­-Country Skiing Coach, Russia (1993). Distinguished Athlete of the RB (1994). Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honour (1960). A trainee of the Bashkir Regional Council of the Urozhay Voluntary Sports Society (Coach – N.Ye.Veremey). Bronze Medalist of the Olympic Games (1960, 1964) and World Championships (1960, 1962, and 1964) in the relay. The USSR 15 km Race Champion (1960, 1962, 1964) and Relay Champion (1960, 1962–65). Member of the USSR National Team (1959–65).
