FOREIGN TRADE, import and export of goods and services. The goods from the RB are exported to more than 100 countries of the world; in the region there are about 800 exporting companies. In terms of export volume (in 2017 – 4.3 billion US dollars; as compared to 2016, it decreased by 25.3%), the RB is among the top twenty regions of the RF, it ranks 3rd among the regions of the Volga Federal District. The bulk of the RB export in 2017 was comprised of mineral products (the share in the export commodity structure is 57.0%; in 2016 – 76.1%) and mechanical engineering products (18.3%; 8.1%). The share of commodities exported to non­CIS countries is as follows: mineral products and mechanical engineering products – 60.7% and 21.9% respectively (in 2016 – 81.2% and 8.5% respectively); to CIS countries: mineral products, chemical industry and rubber products – 44.4% and 29.0% respectively (46.4% and 28.2% respectively). The exporting countries are Latvia (share in the region’s export 21.3% or 907.7 million dollars), China (12.8% or 907.7 respectively), the Netherlands (10.0% or 426.4 respectively), Kazakhstan (8.4% or 357.1 respectively), Belarus (8.2% or 351.9 respectively). A public register of exporters was created; in 2017, the Center for Coordination of Support of Export­Oriented Small and Medium­Sized Businesses of the RB was opened, a regional office of the Russian Export Center was opened in Ufa. The exporting companies are Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, Bashneft–Novoil, Bashneft–Ufaneftekhim, Bashneft– UNPZ, Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, ODK–Ufa Motor­-Building Production Association, etc. Mechanical engineering and chemical industry products are imported. The majority of goods (machines, equipment, transport, food, pharmaceutical products) are imported from Belarus, Germany, China, USA, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland. The share of products imported to the RB in 2017 was as follows: mechanical engineering products (54.8%; in 2016 – 48.9%), chemical industry and rubber products (in January–December 2017 18.9%; 27.6%). The Republican import from non­CIS countries in 2017 amounted to 0.7 billion dollars, including mechanical engineering products – 59.5% (in 2016 – 50.3%), from the CIS countries – 0.1 (1.4% more than in 2016). CIS countries mostly export mechanical engineering products – 34.7% (in 2016 – 44.3%) to the RB. The countries importing into the RB are China (import share – 16.9% or 128.6 million dollars),Germany(15.5%or 118.1 respectively), Belarus (11.1% or 84.2 respectively), Italy (7.4% or 56.1 respectively) and the USA (5.5% or 42.1).
