SECONDARY RESOURCES, industrial and household waste used, after special treatment, as raw materials. The collection and processing of metallurgical treatment slag is performed at Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, overburden rocks and mill tailings – at Uchaly Mining and Processing Plant, the scrap and waste of ferrous and non­ferrous metals and accumulator batteries – at OAO Bashvtormet and Bashvtortsvetmet, spent oil products – at OAO Bashkirnefte product, OOO Ural­Nafta (Sterlitamak), Ufa Directorate of Drilling Operations, waste paper – at Cardboard and Paper Plant (Tuymazy), OAO Krovlya, polymeric waste – at OAO Elektroapparat, OOO Landysh (Tuymazy), Iskra, Green (both – in Oktyabrsky), etc, worn tyres – at NPP ENTI (Ufa), fluorescent lamps – at NIIBZhD RB, OAO Iskozh, pyrites cinder, phosphogypsum – at OOO Meleuz Mineral Fertilizers, oil sludge – at the plants of ANK Bashneft, etc; the centralized management of solid waste landfills (25 landfills), the creation of the system for their collection and commissioning of facilities for their processing and recycling is performed by GUP Tabigat (Ufa). The production waste of polypropylene (PAO Ufaorgsintez), polystyrene (Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat), linoleum and polyethylene (Avangard Enterprise) are used as an additive to the basic raw materials. In 2005 36.4 million t of waste was collected, of which 9,968 million t were recycled, in 2012 – 47.82 and 7.87 million t respectively. The sources of secondary fuel and energy resources are high­temperature gases of open­hearth, glass­melting and other furnaces. In 2009, 85% of fuel resources and 38.6% of thermal secondary energy resources were used, which is equivalent to saving

861.4 thous. t of conventional fuel.
