GANTSEV, Shamil Khanafiyevich (b.19.4. 1951 in Ufa), Oncology Surgeon. Acad. of the AS RB (2018), Dr.Sci (Medical Sciences) (1989), Full Professor (1991). Merited Master of Sciences of the RF (2002) and the RB (1995). Laureate of the RB State Award in Science and Technology (2009). Awarded with the Order of Honour (2009), Order of Salavat Yulaev (2017). Graduated from the BSMI (1974). Since 1976 worked in Ufa Hospital No.6. Since 1978 in BSMU, simultaneously, since 1998 Head of the Cancer Clinic of the Republican Clinical Cancer Hospital, since 2012 Dir. of Oncology Scientific Research Institute of BSMU. His scientific research is dedicated to improvement of early detection and diagnosis methods, combined treatment and tumour prevention. Merited President of the Cancer Society of the RB (1989–2013).
