GARIPOV, Rami Yagafarovich

с [12.2.1932, Selo Arkaulovo of Verkhne‑Kiginsky Raion of the BASSR (now Salavatsky Raion of the RB) — 20.2.1977, Ufa]. People’s Poet of the BSSR (1992). Laureate of the BASSR Award named after Salavat Yulayev (1988). Member of the Union of Writers of the BASSR. After graduation from the Lit. Institute named after M.Gorky (Moscow, 1955) and until 1957 as well as between 1962—67 worked in the Sovetsky Bashkortostan newspaper, in 1957 — in the Bashgosizdat publishing house, in 1958 — in the Literaturny Bashkortostan magazine (all — in Ufa). Since 1959, Secretary of the Komsomol organization of Yuruzan collective farm and Sarghamysh state farm of Salavatsky Raion. In 1961, Department Head of the Put Oktyabrya raion newspaper. Between 1967— 72, Executive Secretary at the Doch Bash- kortostana magazine (Ufa). Author of the following collections of poems: Stone Flower (1958), Sacred Word (1969) and Ryabinushka (1974),etc.Translated into the Bashkir language: Aldar and Zukhra khikayat, rubais by Omar Khayam, poems by S.A.Yesenin, A.S.Pushkin et al. The creative works of G. have been translated into the Russian, Belarusian and Tatar languages.
