GARIFULLIN, Rustam Rafisovich (20.5. 1978, Derevnya Asaka of Baltachevsky Raion of the BASSR – 23.2.2015, Sverdlovsk Obl., Perm–Ekaterinburg Highway), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (biathlon) of Russia (2006). Awarded with the Order of Friendship (2008), Order of Salavat Yulayev (2006). A trainee of the sports technical club of the Russian Defense Sports and Military Machinery Training Organization (Sterlitamak, Coach – M.Z.Mudarisov), the Sports Skills Development School of the RB (A.A.Gumerov). The Paralympic Games 12.5 km Race and Sprint Champion (2006), the World Cup Winner in the overall ratings (2006), the World Sprint Cup Winner and Silver Medalist of the World Biathlon Championship, 12.5 km race (both – 2005). Silver Medalist of the Olympic Games (2006) and the Cross‑Country Skiing Relay World Champion (2005). European Summer Biathlon Champion (1997). Member of the Russian National Team (2002–07).
